Pray without Ceasing
Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m.
A quiet midweek service of scripture, reflection, candle lighting, and prayer.
Life can be noisy. Sometimes we need a place where we do not have to perform, explain everything, or find the perfect words.
Pray Without Ceasing is a simple, contemplative service where we pause in the middle of the week and bring our real lives before God.
Our Pray Without Ceasing gathering is part of a growing movement calling ELCA faith communities to weekly prayer and active love for their neighbors. For more information click here: Pray without Ceasing.

What to Expect
Each Wednesday, we gather for a quiet service shaped by:
- Scripture
- Guided reflection
- Candle lighting
- Prayer for our congregation, our neighbors, and the world
- Space to be still in the presence of God
You do not need to arrive with the right words. You do not need to know exactly what you believe. You may come carrying gratitude, grief, uncertainty, anger, hope, or simply the need to breathe.
Come as you are.
Prayer for Real Life
Prayer is not a performance. It is not another spiritual task we have to complete perfectly.
Prayer is relationship. It is bringing our actual lives into the presence of the God who is already with us.
At New Spirit, prayer and action belong together. We pray for people who are hurting, hungry, grieving, lonely, excluded, or afraid. We also ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes to the ways love might show up through us.
Sometimes prayer brings peace. Sometimes it gives us courage. Sometimes it simply reminds us that we are not carrying everything alone.
Below is the Pray Without Ceasing liturgy.

Everyone Is Welcome
Pray Without Ceasing is open to longtime church members, first-time visitors, people returning to faith, and people who are not certain what they believe.
There is no expectation that you will have the right words or understand everything that happens.
No pretending. Just real people bringing real life before God.
