This Week at New Spirit
June 30-July 6, 2026
Pastor’s Reflection
This week’s message stayed with the simple and challenging truth that love does not stop with words. We were reminded that grace always comes first, and that grace changes us into people who show up for the neighbor in need. Love shows up. This week, we are invited to let that love become visible in one concrete act of care.
From Sunday’s Message
Jesus does not separate faith from visible love. In Isaiah, 1 John, and Matthew 25, God calls people to show up for the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the sick, and the imprisoned. Grace always comes first; we do not earn God’s love by serving others. But grace changes us. Faith turns our eyes outward, and love becomes the first fruit of that grace. Even small acts of love can become part of something beautiful God is building through the whole community.

This Sunday at New Spirit
Worship with us this Sunday at 10:00 AM in person or online. We continue our core values series with the theme “Mercy Is Practiced Here.” Come as you are, and come ready to receive the mercy of God that sends us back into the world with mercy for others.
Life at New Spirit
Across New Spirit, love keeps taking shape in ordinary, faithful ways. It shows up in food shared with neighbors, backpacks packed for children, quilts and hats made with care, rides offered, phone calls made, candles lit in prayer, and people choosing not to let anyone be forgotten. These small stones of love matter. Together, God is forming something beautiful through this community. The work of The Spirit that is happening here has expanded beyond our walls and corner of Tucson to form new branches. There have been meetings about how to expand and enhance the 2nd Saturday Blessings event, conversations about how to take our digital presence to the next level, and more.
