This Week at New Spirit
Pastor’s Reflection
This morning, I was having a conversation, that once again reenforced how God is actively working even when we don’t see it, feel it, or understand it. I spend a lot of time in prayer regarding my pastoral ministry, the ministry of New Spirit, and for an openness to be able to discern where the Spirit is leading. Sometimes those prayers, those seeds that have been planted, grow in unanticipated ways because of the work of The Spirit. In many ways the last 3 years have been a time of sowing seeds, and now we are starting to see signs of that new growth. I for one cannot be more excited!
From Sunday’s Message
“You can’t do it (prayer) wrong. You don’t have to get it right. And most importantly, God hears you and knows you and loves you and is with you.”

This Sunday at New Spirit
Scripture: Acts 2:42-47 and John 14:1–14 (For the month of May, we will be using the First Nations Version New Testament: An Indigenous Translation of the New Testament for our Sunday morning scripture readings.)
Theme: Prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. It doesn’t have to be long. And it doesn’t have to sound impressive. This Sunday, we’re exploring how prayer can become part of your everyday life—simple, honest, and real.
Wherever you are in your faith, you’re welcome here.
Sundays at 10:00am.

Prayers
April 28
God, when life feels dark and heavy, remind us that you are right here with us, not far away. You guide us, steady us, and hold us when fear creeps in. Help us show that same care to others who are hurting.
Repeat: You are with me.
April 29
God, we give thanks for partners in faith who walk this journey with us. Strengthen the church—across traditions—to share your love and serve people who need it most. Keep us united in purpose, even in hard times.
Repeat: We walk together in Christ.
April 30
God, be close to those serving far from home, carrying your love into the world. When they feel the distance, remind them they are not alone. Move us to support them in real, tangible ways.
Repeat: We are connected in Christ.
May 1
God, be present with those gathering to lead your church. Give them clarity, courage, and a shared sense of your mission. Help them choose wisely and move forward together in faith.
Repeat: Guide us, Spirit.
May 2
God, as leaders gather, remind them why they were called in the first place. Strengthen their voices, ground them in your love, and unite them in purpose. Let their work reflect your hope for the world.
Repeat: Lead us in your way.
May 3
God, you are our refuge when life feels uncertain and overwhelming. Be our steady place, our strength, and our peace through every turn. Renew our courage to keep moving forward with you.
Repeat: You are my refuge.
May 4
God, we give thanks for the richness of cultures and voices in your church. Lift up and strengthen Asian and Pacific Islander leaders and communities. Help us be a church where every voice is heard, valued, and empowered.
Repeat: Every voice matters.
